Jari Poulin
For me, photography is a journey to explore and communicate the visual poetry that surrounds us. Come visit me in my spacious 2nd floor, light-filled studio across from the historic State Theatre. I'm eager to share a tour through my gallery, studio and the lab where I do my printing and alternative process work. I will have a large variety of my fine art work available as framed or unframed prints in various sizes.

BIO
While actively studying and practicing the art of photography throughout my life I also enjoyed a career as a dancer, choreographer and later as artistic and executive directors of arts organizations.
In 2004 I made the life-changing decision to devote myself entirely to photography and took a year long sabbatical to make a photo documentary on a small fishing village in Mexico. This was followed by a move from my home in Boston to Taos, New Mexico where for two years I developed a studio practice and created work
for a variety of galleries, exhibits and art venues.
In 2009 I relocated to Ithaca, NY where I have a studio overlooking Cayuga Lake. I continue to make fine art photography. I spent the summer of 2010 in Rockport, ME at the Maine Media Center studying with some of the great masters of portraiture including Joyce Tenneson, Gregory Heisler, Robert Meyer and John Goodman.
It was a profound experience that encouraged me to stretch my artistic and technical vision as a photographer.
