Having lived in this neck of the woods for all of my life, I got my BFA from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University in 2019. I moved back home and found a private studio space in Trumansburg which has been a blessing for me to remain creatively grounded.
All that I have learned and developed as an artist has come from drawing. Whether from within a big sketchbook or a tiny doodle on a post it note I expand upon specific drawings through painting. The immediate sense of sketching in markers has helped me become fully aware of what’s in front of me and to create bold mark makings in my paintings. None of the work is precisely planned out beforehand, but over time composes itself naturally.
