I am the Artist-in-Residence and have my Ithaca studio in the North Star Art Gallery LLC. On the 1st Saturday of every month I display a new exhibition of my work, in conjunction with the Art Trail First Saturday events. Visit us Fridays through Sundays noon am to 4pm or by appointment and browse my figurative works and landscapes of the region and beyond.
My love of painting en plein air was nurtured growing up in the Endless Mountains region of Northeast Pennsylvania. I continue to paint those scenes and those of my adopted home in the Ithaca area. I am committed to environmental advocacy in preserving the reality of the scenes I paint.
In 2016-2017 an overview of my 30 plus years of painting was exhibited at the Roberson Museum, Binghamton, NY, called “Heliodelic Topography – Expressions of Sun-drenched Forms – the Art of Brian Keeler.” I have won many honors over the years, most recently the Best Plein Air Painting January/February 2016 award from the Plein Art Magazine competition.
I continue to present teaching workshops and demonstrations and have an art instructional book, “Dramatic Color in the Landscape,” published by North Light Books, as well as instruction videos and catalogs, all available at my studio.
